Over the last two months of 2022, we shared the stories of six incredible activists who are true local heroes. Their drive and dedication last year helped protect the rights and lives of children in Ukraine, natural resources in Uganda, household workers in Mexico, and more.
We asked you—our global community of friends and supporters—to stand up and support them. And you delivered. Through donations of every size, Facebook fundraisers, employer matches, and messages of solidarity, you came together to help us surpass our goal and raise $200,900 for local activists.

Because of you, grassroots activists will continue to tackle the inequalities and injustice their communities face. With our support, they can take their bold solutions and build more powerful movements that effect change locally, nationally, and globally. On their behalf, we thank you for believing in human rights.
Last year, we were able to provide strategic funding, emergency support, and skills-building opportunities to over 350 groups in more than 50 countries. And we have tremendous hope for what we can achieve in 2023. We look forward to welcoming new leadership and doubling down on finding new ways to strengthen human rights groups and movements tackling critical challenges.
